Our concentrates & syrups are made here in Auckland . We work with Aromatics in Takanini, using recipes developed originally in Hakanoa Street in Grey Lynn.

Q: How long do the concentrates & syrups last? How do I store them?

All Hakanoa products are pasteurised and safe to be stored at room temperature unopened . Syrups can be stored for 3 years and gingers beers for 2 years before their flavours start to fade. Best in a dark cool cupboard if you have one. All Hakanoa products are preservative-free. Our concentrates must be refrigerated after opening and used within 3 months.

Our Classic Chai is for those who love the gentler, sweeter side of chai. A warm lullaby in a cup. This concentrate brings together organic black tea and freshly ground spices with organic raw sugar, delivering a smooth spice balance, mellow warmth, and soft sweetness.

With ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, fennel, nutmeg, and a subtle hint of white pepper, all blended and brewed with care, Classic Chai delivers a rich, velvety flavour that’s incredibly comforting. Organic black tea and organic raw sugar add warmth and roundness without drowning the spices.

The Craft Behind the Bottle

Classic Chai is made in small batches, brewed slowly so each spice has time to release its warmth and character. The result is a chai concentrate that is comforting yet refined, gentle enough for everyday drinking, but layered enough to savour.

Enjoy it rich with milk (dairy or plant-based) for a classic chai latte, or diluted with hot water for a lighter, tea-forward cup. For an extra moment of indulgence, add a spoonful of sweetened condensed milk and let it melt into the warmth.

Serve It Like This

Mix 30mls into 220 mls of hot milk for a classic chai latte that’s smooth, comforting and aromatic.
Or dilute with hot water for a lighter yet still spice-rich chai tea.
For a touch of extra indulgence, stir in a spoonful of sweetened condensed milk.

We ship to most places in the North and South Islands of New Zealand, however we are really sorry, we are unable to ship to Great Barrier, the Chatham Islands & Stewart Island.

North Island - 2 business days
South Island - 3 business days
Rural delivery please allow an extra 2 days.

Type in your city or suburb and you’ll see all the stockists near you. You’ll pay a bit more and most of them only stock single bottles, but any purchase supports our business and we’re very grateful to those stockists for their custom.

There are a lot of cafes that serve our Chai but don’t necessarily stock our ginger beers as well. To make it easy, we’ve created a category so you can see just the ones that have ginger beer.

You can always ask your local to get our ginger beers in, if they serve our Chai they’re bound to be good people
