Our concentrates & syrups are made here in Auckland . We work with Aromatics in Takanini, using recipes developed originally in Hakanoa Street in Grey Lynn.

Q: How long do the concentrates & syrups last? How do I store them?

All Hakanoa products are pasteurised and safe to be stored at room temperature unopened . Syrups can be stored for 3 years and gingers beers for 2 years before their flavours start to fade. Best in a dark cool cupboard if you have one. All Hakanoa products are preservative-free. Our concentrates must be refrigerated after opening and used within 3 months.

Built on fresh ginger and turmeric, our blend has a mellow warmth that radiates from the inside out. Layered with comforting spices and rounded with natural sweetness, Golden Latte is aromatic, rich, and beautifully balanced.

The Craft Behind the Bottle

Golden Latte begins with whole fresh roots and spices, Fresh wild-harvest Fiji turmeric provides its deep golden glow, while mature-harvest organically-grown Fiji ginger adds gentle heat and brightness. Together, they form the warming heart of this blend.

Then we've made a carefully balanced ensemble of spices; cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, allspice, coriander, cloves and black pepper - freshly ground and simmered with the root spices to release aromatic oils. Cooking them together gives the mixture layered complexity. Organic dates and coconut nectar add a soft, rounded sweetness, allowing the spices to shine.

Each batch is slow-simmered and steeped overnight, then gently strained to create a thick, silky concentrate with real depth, warmth and character.

Rural delivery please allow an extra 2 days.

Type in your city or suburb and you’ll see all the stockists near you. You’ll pay a bit more and most of them only stock single bottles, but any purchase supports our business and we’re very grateful to those stockists for their custom.

There are a lot of cafes that serve our Chai but don’t necessarily stock our ginger beers as well. To make it easy, we’ve created a category so you can see just the ones that have ginger beer.

You can always ask your local to get our ginger beers in, if they serve our Chai they’re bound to be good people
